Frédéric Boucheron opened his first salon in 1858. He became well known as an expert in precious stones, as well as an inspired and talented designer and creator of jewellery. In 1893 he moved to the prestigious Place Vendôme serving the Parisian and international elite. In the United States families like the Astors, the Rockefellers and the Vanderbilts were regular buyers of exceptional pieces of jewellery. The House of Boucheron presented their outstanding jewellery at various exhibitions like for instance the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoraifs in Paris. To-day Boucheron is one of the luxury companies of the PPR-group.
