COSTUME JEWELLERY In 1883 Theodor Fahrner took over his father’s business (Est. 1859) in Pforzheim, Germany. Het was an excellent craftsman and designer.Between 1855 and 1979 the company produced jewelllery but it was during the first decade of the 20th century that the name Theodor Fahrner became internationally famous as a leader in jewellery innovation and design.Fahrner styles range from Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Retro etc. ). Many well-known jewellery artist were employed by Fahrner. Their names appeared on their pieces together with the company’s trademark (a circled TF, since 1901 and/or “Original Fahrner”, after 1932 or “TF Germany”)
Theodor Fahrner died in 1919. the firm was purchased by Gustav Braendle and the firm’s name became Gustav Braendle-Theodor Fahrner Nachf , using the TF-trademark.(Herbert Braendle in 1952),. After the dead of Herbert Braenle in 1979, the company ceased to exist. Theodor Fahrner’s costume jewellery is sought after by collectors.
